FREE CONSULTATION AND NO FEE UNLESS WE WIN

The initial consultation is 100% free.
Then, the price for attorney fees depends on the state and area of practice.  Lawyers charge different rates.  The fees to advance a dog bite claim in Pennsylvania range from 25% to 40%.  However, the method by which fees are calculated can have a significant impact on how much money the injured client realizes.  For example,  a firm could “only” charge a 25% but hire private investigator to do the work.  If those costs come out of the client’s portion, it may have behooved the client to pay a 40% attorney fee, to avoid costly investigative costs.

CLEAR PRICING – NO GAMES

We do things differently:
  • First, each Pittsburgh lawyer at our firm does not hire private investigators to work up case.  Our Pittsburgh dog bite lawyers do the work themselves: we take pictures, go to the scene, do internet searches, and earn every bit of our fee on a case.  We do not delegate the work.
  • We do not hire nurses to review medical records; we have experience with medical cases and do the work ourselves.
  • We never pay someone to do our job.
  • There is never any fee unless we win your case. Then, our firm charges 1/3 of the recovery, not 40%.
  • The Initial Consultation is 100% free and confidential. There is no obligation to use our services.
  • We give each case personalized and partner level attention to get the highest possible recovery.

COSTS WE ADVANCE

Our firm advances all costs and expenses, such as:  the copying of medical records (hospitals often charge 20 cents a page or more), filing fees (often nearly $200 plus $75 for each additional defendant) deposition transcripts (often $200 to $800 each). You pay nothing unless we recover money from the responsible party or his insurance carrier, then our fee is a percentage of the of the recovery if we can settle short of going to court.
As mentioned, our fees are reduced in some instances, the fees is 33.33%, not 40% like some other firms.

OUR METHODOLOGY

Timing is everything. We do not rush to file suit, because the threat of suit can be more intimidating to a defendant or his insurance carrier than actually filing suit.  A law suit is public.  Defendants will pay to avoid seeing their names on the public docket.
Plus, once a law suit is filed, it often sits, until the court schedules a trial.  The lawyers can blame the court, for the case not moving more quickly.
We do things differently.
First, we do not rush to file suit because, most of the time, a case tied up in litigation goes on longer than expected until a settlement occurs.  Once defense counsel is assigned, that attorney works on an hourly basis and has the incentive to drag the case on forever, yet many lawyers representing injured parties file suit right way and do their investigation through litigation. Some even advertise this strategy.
Some lawyers do “investigation via litigation,” meaning, they rush to file suit and have a paralegal draft formal requests for information through the courts to develop the facts.

WE ARE DIFFERENT
Our dog bite lawyers perform a thorough and complete investigation prior to filing suit, because most facts are available to you, the injured party, without you having to file a law suit.  These skilled advocates fully investigate every item of damages you can claim.  To learn more about these, click here.
We prefer to keep an open dialogue with the carrier for the Defendant before litigating, because this helps you get top dollar, without having to deal with the carrier’s lawyer, in litigation.
As you can see, there are many draw backs to getting lazy and filing suit right away doing “investigation via litigation”, which is often time consuming and inefficient.

KEEPING COSTS LOW

We also keep costs low by refraining from filing suit right away and incurring the costs of filing suit, serving it by Sheriff, and other costs on the docket.  This is how we put more money in your pocket:  by having a lawyer (not a private investigator) work up your case in a timely way prior to filing suit.
Plus there is no obligation to use our services if you simply call our lawyers for advice about what do do next in your case, following a bite.
